Collaborate – Top 20 Announcement
The Top 20 ideas which could solve CCIQ-Suncorp Bank’s #SmallBusinessChallenges have been selected and are ready to begin the Collaborate program.
Over the next two weeks, the 20 finalists selected by the judging panel will work intensively with BlueChilli’s start-up advisors to validate and refine their ideas before pitching for the ultimate 10 spots offering up to $100,000 investments.
They will receive workshops and one-on-one advisory services at the Collaborate accelerator hub at Spring Hill, Brisbane, to help them develop their market opportunity, business model, competitive advantage, and launch and growth strategies.
CCIQ CEO Stephen Tait said it was another exciting stage in the Collaborate and #SmallBusinessChallenges program and would produce some great concepts to take to market.
“The Small Challenges campaign resulted in over 115 applications to become part of Collaborate – that’s 115 potential businesses, products and services that could become long-term businesses,” he said.
“It takes a bold and brave individual to want to be part of something like Collaborate, to start a business and to bring a great idea to life. We were overwhelmed by the creativity shown by everyone who wanted to solve Suncorp Bank’s #SmallBusinessChallenges and the quality of the entries was breathtaking.
“Today, we are pleased to announce the Top 20 ideas submitted to CCIQ and Suncorp Bank, which we believe will help solve small business problems.
“The Top 20 are the clear standouts and include some smart and bright thinking from potential start-ups and budding entrepreneurs.”
“The top 100 ideas will receive access to Collaborate2Launch – an online program that helps validate, test and develop and idea from concept to execution,” she said.
“From these, the best 50 ideas will be sponsored for six months in the Collaborate incubator in Spring Hill, receiving free office space and the benefit of working alongside other smart entrepreneurs in the start-up community.
“The Top 20 businesses picked to be invited into Collaborate will enter a boot camp beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, February 9). It’s going to be a tough two weeks for the finalists as they prepare to pitch their ideas.”
Ms Grgric said five leading BlueChilli advisers will be working with the Top 20 in the Collaborate centre, which opened today, in anticipation of the Pitch Day on February 23.
“Together with CCIQ we set out to find the local Queensland entrepreneurs who understand and are working on solutions for SMEs to help them save time, money, boost productivity and grow their businesses,” she said.
“We are a step closer to that today.”
Congratulations to the 20 Finalists
