CCIQ

Externally, CCIQ is the peak body group for small and medium businesses in Queensland, providing a voice, advice and services to our members. We have a strong presence throughout the state, an unrivalled media profile and strong relationships with all levels of government.

Internally, we are a research and data company that leverages the insights and knowledge that businesses across Queensland are happy to share with us. We trade on our brand’s deep trust, which means businesses tell us their real issues, challenges and aspirations. These insights are of great value to business, media, politicians, key influencers and decision-makers.

We are uniquely able to build commentary, opinion and insights based upon research information that is factual, open and honest because it has been volunteered freely by businesses that want their voice to be heard.

Collaborate is the next evolution in our journey as we look to strengthen our members by bringing them solutions to the challenges that they face. We’re doing this because our members trust us and tell us of the challenges they face and we provide them with tools, resources and advocacy to meet those challenges.

The speed of change and the challenges they are facing is increasing and we’ve decided to take a unique approach to solving their challenges and we’ve done that by creating Collaborate.

BlueChilli

BlueChilli helps talented founders build businesses using our purpose-built methodology designed to accelerate a startup’s path to launch, growth and scale.

Leveraging the hindsight and experience of serial entrepreneurs, lean startup experts and startup mentors in our program, in addition to selected business tools, BlueChilli helps founders build highly investable, scalable and well-designed businesses that are enabled by technology.

We’re well on our way to reaching our ambitious goal of creating 100 startups by 2016 – and now have a bigger goal of building a $1billion portfolio by 2020.

How we got started

BlueChilli was established by Sebastien Eckersley-Maslin in Sydney, Australia in 2012.

Sebastien, a serial entrepreneur, started his career as a weapons engineer in the Australian Navy. There he learned how defence force training equips participants to deal with extreme uncertainty with relatively predictable outcomes. Sebastien believed this same approach could be applied to startups: give founders the tools and knowledge to make highly effective decisions in the face of the uncertainty. Reducing risk, yet empowered individuals in the field.

BlueChilli is the leading startup accelerator in Australia and is expanding globally.
